The Election of 1864
Presented by Jessie Cortesi
Join us on Zoom at 2:30 pm EDT on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, for an exploration of the historic presidential election of 1864. As President Abraham Lincoln sought a second term, he was challenged by his former leading general, George McClellan. From the party conventions to the final vote tally, learn about the platforms, take a close look at political memorabilia, and see how each candidate fared in political cartoons. Our presenter is Jessie Cortesi, a Senior Lincoln Librarian at the Rolland Center for Lincoln Research.
